The second day in Charlotte at the PASS Summit 2013 has come to an end. I spend the whole day in a Failover Clustering pre-conference session held by Allan Hirt and it was both educating and exciting. I was pleased to realize that many of the things I have spoken in our company were also addressed and confirmed by Allan. He also reminded me of some the things I had forgotten and taught me quite a few new things as well.
Pre-conference session starting
As I am in process of planning a couple new Failover Cluster deployments, this pre-conference session had a perfect timing. I have to say that content-wise, Im very satisfied about the days offerings (I also have a huge amount of notes written down that I need to go through). Besides the pre-conference session, I also participated to the Welcome Reception held at the Conference Center at the evening, the event was bit brief but pleasant with good variety of snacks and drinks.
The event seems very well-organized and Staff has had the things running very smoothly, I’m curious to see how it’ll go tomorrow when all the participants arrive. From what I heard and read there should be some 5000 people coming in, so it’s probably going to get bit more crowded then.
For tomorrow I have scheduled sessions about Virtualization, Extended Events, Database Compression and Active Directory. And for the evening there’s a small gathering of Finnish participants arranged by Marko Hotti from Microsoft.
